Frequently Asked Questions
If I purchase a Challenger, how long will it be before my machine is up and running and in production?
If we don’t have stock, delivery can take 4 to 6 weeks because the Challengers get shipped in from China. However once your Challenger is delivered, Nashakele Graphics (Pty) Ltd endeavor to have her up and running and in production within 1 week. In fact until now we have been able to maintain a glowing installation turnaround of 2 to 3 working days from delivery .
Is the Challenger expensive to maintain?
Aside from the print heads, other maintenance costs on the Challenger are minimal. The most expensive parts on any solvent printer that can wear out are the print heads. These can cost as much as R 5K each to replace and each machine is fitted with four. Operator negligence notwithstanding, the Challenger’s heads are good for at least 2 to three years of heavy duty production.
Are there any hidden costs?
All our quotations are very detailed and include startup inks, consumables and materials. Nothing is hidden from the potential customer and we take pride in the fact that it will not cost one cent more than the quoted price to get your new challenger up and running and in production.
What if my Challenger breaks down and I have a job pending?
Nashakele Graphics (Pty) Ltd has a very competent technical team who will do everything in their power to get your Challenger back in production as quickly as possible. However for emergencies we go the extra mile and place our demonstration machines at the disposal of the customer to get the job out and protect their delivery reputation in the market. We understand that it is ultimately in our own best interests to see our customer’s business succeed.
How much work must my Challenger do to justify her cost?
The entry level 1,5m Challenger must be kept busy for 2 to 3 hours per month to make the repayments to the bank. That’s right, I said 2 to 3 hours per month. Anything more than that, you are paying extra on your loan and turning a profit. For people already in the signage industry, if you are outsourcing more than R 5000,00 worth of business every month, it pays you to be running your own full solvent Challenger.
How long will the Challenger’s prints last outdoors?
The inks we use have an inherent UV protection and are specifically designed for outdoor applications. The durability of the Challenger’s prints is comparable to that of any other solvent printer on the market and often exceeds market standards. One should be able to leave a print outdoors for 2 to 3 years depending on conditions and this time span will outlive most messages. There are UV lacquers available on the market that prints can be treated with to give them an even longer outdoor life, especially where they are exposed to direct sunlight for most of the day.
Is there technical support for the Challenger outside of Johannesburg?
We maintain technical service centers in Durban and Cape Town and are looking to establish service centers in other African countries. In the interim, if a client is not located within reasonable distance of one of our existing centers we will fly technicians out to your location to install, train and offer technical support as required. Service delivery is one of the cornerstones of our business and you can rest assured that we will not leave one of our machines stranded.
